∎ LET'S HEAR IT FOR LITHE !
LITHE VONYA | U10 SA CHAMP
MACX Academy is proud to announce that junior crew member Lithe Vonya has been crowned South African National Champion in the Girls U10 division.
An extraordinary achievement for a dancer who had never competed before, nor ever performed on a stage.
After transitioning from ballet to street-dance only recently, Lithe jumped straight into the competitive scene after just 3 months of being with the academy. Her debut inter-provincial performance earned her a 1st-place national title, officially placing her at the top of her age division nationwide.
In true fearless spirit, Lithe powered through the demanding competition weekend with the kind of determination that can’t be coached. Despite having very little rest the night before and barely touching her breakfast due to nerves, she stepped on stage with explosive energy and heart — proving that passion can shine even under less-than-ideal conditions. (For the record: our coaches do not recommend the “low sleep, low appetite” approach and we made sure she fueled up afterwards!)
“
With zero competitive experience, zero stage experience and only a short time outside of ballet, Lithe’s performance was nothing short of inspiring,” said MACX Academy Director. “She embodies the grit and individuality we love in our dancers.”
This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting journey for Lithe and for her MACX Academy’s Junior Crew, who continue to demonstrate that young talent, when supported and guided, can break expectations and light up the national stage.
MACX Academy congratulates Lithe on her championship title and looks forward to what’s next for this rising star
